Statement by Georgia Simon on the White House Media Ban

AKSM Media is frustrated with President Donald Trump and his administration for their media ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico. Removing their access to the White House over their news reporting is both unethical and fundamentally challenges the freedom of the press. The White House is meant to represent and work for the American people and we will not stand for an administration that does not allow for a free and fair press.

We at AKSM strongly believe in the power of independent media and therefore stand fully behind our fellow White House reporters across various news networks who promote unfettered access to crucial information. A democracy is nothing without our first amendment right and we call on President Trump to immediately restore the networks’ with their White House press access.

We will continue to stand alongside the White House Press Pool and their networks as we wait for the next steps in the CNN, MS NOW, and Politico lawsuit. American democracy is nothing without our First Amendment rights and we commend those at these networks for continuing to report for Americans.
