REP. CLINE: Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this special day to recognize Grace as the inaugural recipient of the Keith B. Jones Award.
Grace has proven her commitment to reporting in an unbiased fashion through the non-partisan relationships she formed across the last two Administrations. We are proud of her hard work in Washington, D.C., covering high-profile events such as the 2024 prisoner swap with Russia and the State Funeral of Former President Jimmy Carter.
As a soon-to-be graduate of James Madison University, she is a shining example of the educated and engaged citizens produced here. She is a standout among her peers, whose journalistic integrity helps others become more knowledgeable and informed participants in our democracy.
And so, it was my honor to have this flag flown over the U.S. Capitol on January 25, 2026, in celebration of her work ethic and achievements during her tenure at the White House.
Grace, as you pursue graduate school, we hope this flag is a reminder of the free democracy that thrives today, thanks in part to your leadership and advocacy of First Amendment principles.
