Statement from Andrew McKeough Regarding the Establishment of the McKeough Family Endowed Fund for the Washington Minimester

My family and I are incredibly honored to partner with Villanova University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to establish The McKeough Family Endowed Fund for the Washington Minimester and The McKeough Family Fund for the Washington Minimester. For us, this endowment is about more than just financial support; it is about ensuring that the next generation of leaders and Villanovans have equitable access to the experiences that shape their understanding of civic duty and public service.

The Washington Minimester offers students a unique window into the workings of our government and the history of our nation. It bridges the gap between theoretical study and the real-world application of policy, media, and history. I have personally been able to present to students who have visited the White House over numerous years of the program with some of the students going on to become my mentees. Our family believes deeply in the value of this immersive education; it is the kind of experience that sparks careers and defines futures.

However, we recognize that the costs associated with studying away can often be a hurdle for talented students. We wanted to ensure that a student’s financial situation never stands in the way of their ability to participate in this transformative program. By establishing these funds, we hope to remove financial barriers so that more students can take advantage of this incredible opportunity, while creating a legacy of support that is designed to last for all time.

We look forward to seeing the Washington Minimester program continue to thrive and are grateful to play a part in helping Villanova students succeed.
