Statement by Andrew McKeough on Pope Leo XIV

The election of Pope Leo XIV marks a profound moment for Catholics around the world and for all those who look to the Church for moral clarity and global leadership. His Holiness brings with him a spirit of humility and renewal that speaks to the challenges and hopes of our time. As a proud alumnus of Villanova University — a community rooted in Augustinian values of truth, unity, and love — I am especially moved by this new chapter in the Church’s story. Pope Leo XIV’s commitment to dialogue, justice, and compassion echoes the very principles instilled in me during my time at Villanova. I pray for his strength and wisdom as he embarks on this sacred responsibility.
