Biden Administration's Year In Review

President Biden and his administration are undoubtedly facing ongoing issues regarding their agenda. Still, they have remained optimistic by focusing on what they have managed to get done even as the President’s approval rating sinks.

WASHINGTON - During the 2020 presidential race, Joe Biden campaigned alongside promises to unify the country, end the Covid-19 pandemic, and more. Although it may seem like these vows have not been met, he has achieved some significant accomplishments that much of the media fails to acknowledge. For starters, he has managed to pass enormous coronavirus relief and infrastructure packages.
From the moment he was inaugurated last January, President Biden has taken a different approach towards the pandemic than the previous administration. Rather than disregarding the science and top medical professionals who have studied the disease closely, the current administration has embraced them while encouraging the country to continue wearing masks and keep getting vaccinated. Biden has also signed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan after it was passed through Congress. The legislation has sent stimulus checks to many citizens, added to unemployment insurance, and put aside billions of dollars for coronavirus testing.
All in all, it is one of the most extensive economic packages in the country’s history. It has frightened some legislators who believe government spending should be pushed towards something else, but many others see the passing as a victory. In addition, the administration continues to take other measures that they hope will help end the pandemic. They have made 400 million N95 masks available to anyone and created a government website that allows people to order free at-home tests.
President Biden has also signed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure law after Congress passed it with bipartisan support. It will improve internet broadband, roads, bridges, ports, and more, in addition to creating plenty of new jobs.
“These investments will improve the efficiency, sustainability, and resiliency of these hubs of commerce,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated in a press briefing at the end of 2021.
Furthermore, the President is responsible for helping create 6.4 million jobs, as well as increasing wages and low unemployment. Though these achievements are commendable, none of it matters as incomes do not exceed the growing inflation rate the country is experiencing. In just a year, inflation increased to nearly 7%. Nonetheless, the administration sticks to its policies while devising plans to get the economy back on track.
