PHILADELPHIA - President Biden traveled to Philadelphia on Thursday for his 27th visit to the city of brotherly love since taking office to deliver remarks regarding clean energy as well as a new project announcement that expects to create many jobs following the extensive layoffs during the pandemic.

The president declared that the Philadelphia Shipyard will build The Arcadia, a first-of-its-kind ship to hold up wind generation offshore.

“It’s gonna place heavy rocks at the base of offshore wind projects to stabilize when they put these down,” President Biden said. “And it’s going to protect it against erosion.”

This Philadelphia stop has been just one of the many ways the Biden Administration plans to publicize “Bidenomics,” the president's plan to help jump start America's economy.

On top of creating new jobs, this ship helps President Biden with his goal of building 30 gigawatts of offshore wind generation. He hopes to achieve this by 2030, which will help power around 10 million houses.

The President also received a preview of the ship ahead of his remarks.

“When I think climate, I think jobs,” Biden said. “It’ll be the first vessel of its kind, made in America.”

Alongside the president, Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon said “We can advance the ball with respect to clean energy and create new jobs while doing, and they’re good jobs.”

Biden hopes to take his “Bidenomics” plan across all of America while creating jobs and helping Americans get back on their feet following the pandemic.

“We just have to remember who we are. We’re the United States of America,” the President explained at the end of his remarks. “There is nothing -- nothing beyond our capacity of we work together.”
