WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden shared his thoughts as the Democrats crushed the red wave in the midterm elections. The President did not hesitate when reminding those that the Democratic party had been underestimated.

“Our democracy has been tested in recent years, but with their votes, the American people have spoken and proven once again that democracy is who we are,” stated President Biden.

President Biden also stated that although multiple races were unknown, he is ready to get to work with his Republican colleagues. Due to President Biden’s policies, these efforts turned votes into more Democrats in office.

The President mentioned that he will be inviting leaders in the Democratic and Republican parties in Congress to the White House to discuss their efforts to work together. President Biden made it clear that he was not going to agree on Republican proposals, saying he would veto legislation which could make inflation worse, cuts to Medicare and Social Security and any attempt to ban abortion.

Still, Biden drew a red line on a number of Republican proposals, saying he’d veto legislation he thinks could make inflation worse, cuts to Social Security and Medicare, as well as any attempt to introduce a national ban on abortion.

“And I know you were somewhat miffed by my optimism, I felt good during the whole process. I thought we were going to do fine,” stated President Biden. “While any seat lost is painful, and some good Democrats didn’t win last night, Democrats had a strong night, and we lost fewer seats in the House of Representatives than any Democratic president’s first midterm election in the last 40 years.”

President Biden watched the election starting in his residence and then to the Roosevelt room where he was surrounded with his advisers. This is where he made all of his congratulatory calls and texts.

The President also made it clear that voters are still frustrated. Implying that he is not planning on changing his agenda. He stated that “it takes time to be recoginized” when speaking on his policies having to do with funding for infrastructure project and limits on prescription durg costs.

President Biden also made remarks regarding the rumors about his reelection in 2024. Which he replied by stating he is in no hurry to announce a bid.

“I think everybody wants me to run, but we’re gonna have discussions about it,” President Biden stated.
