PHILADELPHIA - On Friday afternoon, President Biden visited Philadelphia to visit a water treatment plant and speak at a Democratic National Committee Event.

Upon his arrival in Philadelphia, Biden headed to the Belmont Water Treatment Plant. He began his speech by referencing First Lady Dr. Jill Biden’s Philadelphia roots.

“She’s a Philly girl,” he said. “So, the first thing I’m going to say is: Go Eagles! Fly, Eagles, fly!”

Biden also touted the strong job report that was released that morning.

“We’ve created 12 million jobs…since we took office,” he said. “That’s the strongest two-year growth in history and by a long shot.”

He also announced $160 million in federal funding that will be used to replace about 20 miles of water mains in Philadelphia, and the funding comes from a bipartisan infrastructure package Congress passed in 2021.

Later that day Biden again touched on his strong jobs report in front of a Democratic National Committee meeting.

“We’ve created 750,000 manufacturing jobs in America,” he said. “There’s not a thing we’ve ever set our mind to, ever, as a nation we haven’t accomplished.”

President Biden has yet to officially announce that he will be running for President again in 2024, but his speech on Friday was met with chants of “four more years” from the crowd of top Democratic party leaders.
