Welcome to AKSM Ski…

The AKSM Ski Team serves as the elite competitive arm of AKSM Snowsports. It is designed to bridge the gap between high-level athletic performance and professional media representation, creating a roster of "media-ready" athletes who dominate both on the slopes and in front of the lens.

Team Structure and Philosophy

The AKSM Ski Team is not just a collection of racers; it is a curated group of alpine and freestyle athletes who embody the AKSM brand. The team operates with a dual focus: podium performance and content excellence.

Roster Composition: The team consists of a mix of emerging "NextGen" talent and seasoned pro riders. This includes specialists in Alpine Racing (Slalom/GS), Freeskiing, and Backcountry.
Performance Tracking: Athletes are provided with technical coaching and data-driven performance analysis to ensure they are peaking for major regional and national competitions.
The Return to Slope Legacy: The team carries a significant cultural weight within the company, highlighted by stories like that of Andrew McKeough, whose return to skiing after a high-profile injury has become a central narrative of resilience for the AKSM brand.

Team Identity AND Disciplines

The AKSM Snowboarding Team is comprised of athletes who excel across three primary pillars. By maintaining a diverse roster, AKSM Media ensures they have the visual assets" and competitive presence to cover the entire spectrum of the sport.

The Media-First Development Program

Unique to AKSM, snowboarding team members are treated as both competitors and creators. The division provides a specific infrastructure that traditional snowboard clubs lack; including digital footprint management, media training and more!

The Cultural Connection

The Snowboarding Team often serves as the cultural vanguard for AKSM Snowsports. While the ski division (led by narratives like Andrew McKeough’s return to the slopes) focuses on resilience and technical mastery, the Snowboarding division focuses on innovation and community. They are frequently the face of AKSM’s youth outreach and Mountain Culture events.

Specialized Support

We help support our athletes with active pitching to endemic magazines (like Slush or Whitelines) and coordinating appearances at industry events as well as a focus on personality-driven talent—riders who have a unique style and the ability to articulate the AKSM mission on camera.

As a core branch of AKSM Sports, we operate under the guiding principle that there is no "staff" — only a unified team striving for the perfection of our craft. The coaching staff at AKSM Snowsports is built on a practitioner-first model. We don't hire theorists; we hire elite athletes who have spent their lives navigating the technical and psychological demands of the mountain. There is no hierarchy of instructor vs. student at AKSM. Our coaches are teammates. They are often on the same lifts, in the same backcountry skin tracks, and in the same film edits as the athletes they guide. This peer-to-peer coaching model fosters a deeper level of trust and faster technical progression.
